Black Magick 2: Awakening II

Black Magick 2: Awakening II – The trap around Rowan Black continues to close, with the Hammer closing in on one side and the Ascension now in motion on the other. But the ultimate wound may not be wielded by magick, but instead delivered via the heart.

Nicola Scott provides some great art here, expressive black and white work that features specific,

sparse splashes of color when magick is used. Story-wise, Greg Rucka uses his time-honed skills at writing police procedurals and strong female characters to put together a decent crime/occult combo that promises interesting things to come as Detective Rowan Black struggles to keep her identity as a witch a secret as an occult conspiracy grows around her.
